The radical-left American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has asked the Department of Homeland Security to end 287(g) agreements with 54 local law enforcement agencies. These agreements enable local agencies to participate in federal immigration law enforcement, and they have a proven track record of enhancing overall enforcement of immigration laws. The ACLU consistently opposes measures to curtail illegal immigration.
