Trump Slashes Refugee Quota

The Trump Administration announced that it will limit admission of refugees to 7,500 a year. This contrasts with the quota of 125,000 set by former President Joe Biden. The administration stated that the new quota is “justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest.”

This reduction reflects the need of correct long-standing abuses in the refugee program. Refugee advocates have twisted the definition of refugee to mean anyone dissatisfied with where he is living, rather than a person facing specific kinds of persecution. Also, we have a corrupt resettlement system which funnels taxpayers’ money to resettlement agencies, which in turn dump on refugees on local communities and leave them with the tab for providing social services to the refugees.

The administration says that Afrikaner South Africans will have priority for the 7,500 quota, along with “other victims of illegal or unjust discrimination in their respective homelands.”
