Remember when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent illegal migrants to Martha’s Vineyard and the sanctuary-minded authorities there promptly got rid of them like a hot potato? Well, it turns out that some migrants, particularly those in the gangbanger set, seem to have developed a taste for the good life at the Vineyard, thus attracting the attention of ICE.
That attention resulted this week in the arrest of 40 illegals, including members of MS-13 as well as at least one child sex offender. Assisted by FBI, DEA, and ATF agents, ICE carried out the raids on Martha’s Vineyand and neighboring Nantucket islands on Tuesday. The US Coast Guard then provided a cutter and some smaller boats to complete the removal of the offenders from the islands.
Local officials — notified of the operation but not asked to help — can thus face the summer 40 migrants lighter, courtesy of the feds.
