Kilmar Abrego Garcia has become the poster boy for illegal alien advocates. He is the illegal alien recently deported by the Trump Administration to his home country of El Salvador. Since then a procession of Democratic politicians have made pilgrimages to that country to show their support for him. These lawmakers for lawbreakers maintain that the deportation was improper and that the administration had no strong evidence that Garcia has ties to the MS-13 criminal gang.
One who sets the record straight is Tricia McLaughlin, Department of Homeland Security assistant secretary for public affairs: She observed that “It is shocking to me that the Democrats and legacy media continue to burn to the ground any last shred of credibility that they have left. When [Garcia] was first arrested in 2019, he was arrested among other members of MS-13 as well. He had drugs and rolls of money on him. He was decked out in MS-13 symbols.”
She further commented on the time in 2022 when the Tennessee Highway Patrol pulled Garcia over while he was making a three-day trip from Texas to Maryland. She noted that “A Homeland Security investigation revealed . . . that the car that Garcia was driving . . . was owned by a convicted human trafficker. So anyone trying to paint this individual, this illegal alien . . . as an innocent man is just lying straight to your face.”
It’s interesting that the politicians visiting Garcia have never traveled to pay condolences to the family members of Americans murdered by illegal aliens. That seems to show their priorities.
