A Report on Enforcement

An official from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informed the New York Post on the progress that the Trump Administration has made toward effective enforcement of immigration law. Since President Trump was inaugurated on January 20th, said this official, both ICE and CBP have arrested 113,000 illegal aliens and have deported more than 100,000.

As increased border control has discouraged illegal crossings, the Border Patrol only apprehended 7,000 border crossers in March, a decline of 94 percent from March of 2024 when 137,000 were apprehended. A source at DHS observed that illegal aliens are “scared there are consequences now,” and added that “everyone who is caught is charged and does time.”
