Tom Homan, the Trump Administration’s “border czar,” charged that incompetence was not the reason that the Biden Administration largely failed to enforce immigration laws and left our southern border wide-open to illegal migrants.
He stated: “They sold this country out for future political power. . . . “[It was] not incompetence. [It was] not mismanagement. They knew exactly what they were doing. Some think there was future political benefit with millions and millions of Democrat voters. But we don’t even have to get there because they also overturned the Trump census rule, which means millions of illegal aliens will be counted in the next census in sanctuary cities, which would result in more House seats for Democrats. They sold this country out for future political power.”
In 2007, top Democratic strategist Robert Creamer outlined the following scheme for political clout in his book, How Progressives Can Win, “[T]he immigration battle is also important because it will have an enormous impact on the battle for power between the progressive and conservative forces in American society. . . . [T]here 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. If they [get amnesty] they will be eligible for citizenship and voting rights. . . . They will join the nearly 30 million immigrants who are legal residents . . . [who] could register to vote.
“If Democrats continue to stand firmly for immigrant rights, the issue will define immigrants’ loyalties for a generation. If we are successful, a gigantic block of progressive voters will enter the electorate . . . [and] that could be decisive for the future.”
