In planning raids targetting illegal migrants in certain cities, Border czar Tom Homan’s team is having to deal with persons tipping off the targets before the raids can get underway. This has happened in both Aurora, Colorado, where one raid found only empty apartments, and in Los Angeles, and Homan says he’s determined to root out the leakers. He told Sean Hannity Monday night:
It’s just not giving the bad guys a heads-up so they can escape apprehension. You’re putting officers’ lives at risk. It’s only a matter of time before we walk into a place where there’s going to be a bad guy [who] doesn’t care. He’s going to be sitting in wait to ambush an officer. This is not a game. This a dangerous job. To have this type of interference puts the officers at great risk.
Homan said he had talked with Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, who told him he believes the leaker responsible for tipping off Venezuelan migrants in Aurora has been identified, and that the DOJ will seek criminal charges for jeopardizing DHS investigators’ safety.
In addition, someone apparently leaked advance knowledge of a large-scale raid in Los Angeles to the LA Times, which announced it in an article last Friday.
Homan says investigations by DHS and DOJ are currently pointing at the “inside,” meaning, specifically, the FBI. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem tweeted over the weekend:
The FBI is so corrupt. We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law.
