Where Harris Really Stands on Immigration

Kamala Harris has been trying to reinvent herself as a border control advocate, apparently for the sake of making herself more palatable to mainstream voters. Nevertheless, the recent publication of her platform, and an accurate understanding of what it means, should remove all doubts about her real intentions. It stated:

“As President, she will bring back the [February 2024] bipartisan border security bill and sign it into law. At the same time, she knows that our immigration system is broken and needs comprehensive reform that includes strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship.”

The so-called border security bill was only a smokescreen to preserve the status quo of our broken border. It would have codified all the illegal actions of the Biden Administration to allow large numbers of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. legally and settle, with little real possibility that they will ever have to leave.

Advertised as a border control bill, it would have allowed as many as 1.8 million illegal aliens to enter before any attempt would been made to slow their movement. The bill also would have given billions of dollars to the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are aiding abetting illegal immigration.

Finally, Harris makes plain that she wants to provide legal status to illegal aliens and a path to citizenship. Would that include most or all of the 12 million plus illegal aliens now living in the U.S.? That seems to be a possibility. Do we make our border more secure when we reward people with citizenship who cross it illegally? When you reward certain behavior, you commonly get more of it.
