We’ve noted frequently — most recently on August 12 — the phenomenon of the drastic rise in the number of illegal Chinese migrants arriving in the United States. Still, no obvious reason has been offered for the huge uptick.
Others have been wondering as well. CBS reported in February that the fastest growing group of illegals they witnessed crossing the border were the Chinese. Their reporter saw large groups of Chinese — “many from the middle class” — crossing into the US near San Diego. Among those they spoke with were business people and a banker. Some said they came to work, others “for freedom.” Many were unable or unwilling to explain just why they came, other than to say they had been influenced by Tik Tok, the Chicom-owned social media outlet.
NewsNation correspondent @VenturaReport has also observed that many of the migrqnts appear well-healed, able to pay smugglers up to $35,000 per person to reach America. In addition, oddly, while en route they “look completely clean—luggage, shoes, outfit—clean.”
Another reporter tweeted in March that Chinese cartels are bringing people to work “in marijuana farms” they are creating on the massive amounts of US land they have purchased. (According to a 2021 report from the Department of Agriculture, the Chinese own roughly 384,000 acres of US farmland.)
That could be, but we still don’t know. And organizations like the NY Times that have the wherewithal to investigate seem uninterested. Wonder why?
