The governor of Utah, Spencer J. Cox, has charged that Denver, Colorado, is paying for illegal aliens who live there to move to Utah. Denver has a large population of illegals partially because of its “sanctuary” policy which prevents police and other city employees from cooperating with federal efforts to enforce immigration law.
Gov. Cox stated, ““We recently learned that the Democrat mayor of Denver has been sending illegal immigrants to Utah without proper notification or approval. This is completely unacceptable and follows on the failed catch-and-release policy of the Biden administration.” Cox said that Denver, so far, has sent about 2,000 illegals to his state.
Denver’s bourgeoning illegal population has placed a significant financial burden on the city. Ironically, sanctuary supporters commonly maintain that the presence of illegals is “enriching.” Evidently, Denver wishes to share its “enrichment.”
