Kinney County, Texas, is part of the Del Rio Border Sector, one of the busiest sections along the entire US/Mexico border. Kinney is a small county, population-wise, with fewer than 3,200 residents, and traditionally it has seen little crime. In 2020, for example, the last year of the Donald Trump administration, Kinney reported only 134 criminal charges.
But then, in early 2021, Joe Biden took over, and the floodgates were opened. Since then, Kinney’s crime rate has exploded: in 2021, there were nearly 3,000 charges; 2022, nearly 6,800; and in 2023, more than 5,800. While the county normally operates within a $6-million-dollar annual budget, the crime wave so far has cost taxpayers an additional $10.5 million and severely impacted public schools, first responder systems, and law enforcement agencies. On at least two occasions, Kinney County residents needing emergency medical services have died because those services were busy tending to migrant crossings.
The Del Rio Sector continues to see enormous numbers of illegal aliens enter. In just this fiscal year alone, nearly 200,000 illegals have entered the US along its length. Most have been welcomed by the Biden admin.
