The sudden rise is stunning.
In all of fiscal year 2021, the number of Chinese nationals encountered illegally crossing our border was just 342. In 2022, the number jumped somewhat — to 1,987 — but remained small in absolute terms. Then came 2023, when the number shot up to 24,125. But that was hardly the end of it. So far this fiscal year the number of illegal Chinese migrants encountered, most of whom are military-aged men, has already passed that mark. It’s at 24,296, and we’re only six months in.
The question is, Why has the rate of illegal Chinese migration into the US exploded by a potential 14,000 percent in just a few years? No one seems to have an answer and officials in the executive branch don’t seem to care. The mainstream media, for their part, are sticking to the old tried-and-true: we’re asked to believe that tens of thousands of young Chinese men decided on the spur of the moment to sneak into the United States just to seek “a better life.”
At least the MSM have an answer, however unlikely. The Biden administration acts as though it would rather no one talk about it. Neither China’s long history of spying on the US, nor a spy balloon allowed to float over the entire country gathering intelligence, nor secret Chinese police centers discovered in New York City, nor China’s attempts purchase of farmland near strategic military bases, nor continuing Chinese hackers — none of that has inspired the administration to do anything differently. It’s just business as usual, and for Joe Biden, that means an ever-open door.
