You may remember that in August Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona, frustrated at the inaction of the White House to stem the constant flow of illegal migrants across the border near Yuma, ordered the placement of 3,000 double-stacked shipping containers there to serve as a makeshift barricade.
Now the Interior Department has sent a letter to Ducey demanding that the containers be removed and never put back. The letter reads in part:
The unauthorized placement of those containers constitutes a violation of federal law and is a trespass against the United States. That trespass is harming federal lands and resources and impeding Reclamation’s ability to perform its mission.
Interior’s reference to “trespass against the United States” is amusing in that trespass is precisely what the 310,000 illegals who crossed the border in the Yuma sector during FY 2022 were doing–under the near neglectful nose of the Biden government.
The Governor is considering his response. Let’s hope Ducey doubles down.
