President-elect Donald Trump on Friday announced his selection of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) to head the Justice Department. Sessions has been the leading senator fighting against amnesty, increased guest worker admissions, and failures to enforce immigration laws.
Left-wing Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) said of Sessions “No senator has fought harder against the hopes and aspirations of Latinos, immigrants and people of color than Sen. Sessions.”
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), praised Sessions as a “committed and deeply principled conservative” who will make an “extraordinary” attorney general.
