Trump Endorses RAISE Act

President Trump endorsed legislation which eventually would cut legal immigration in half. Legal immigration is now that the highest sustained level in our history at more than a million a year.

The legislation, introduced by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA), is called the Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy (RAISE) Act. By cutting immigration, it aims to reduce competition for American jobs. Specifically, it would cut back on immigration based on family connections and favor applications from people with needed skills. “This legislation,” said President Trump, “demonstrates our compassion for struggling American families who deserve an immigration system that puts their needs first and that puts America first.”
