Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) says that if the Democrats regain control of the Senate, he will move to push amnesty legislation. With a Democrat majority, Schumer would become Senate majority leader. Schumer was one of the leaders behind legislation introduced in 2013 to grant amnesty to illegal aliens and a large increase in legal immigration. That measure passed the Senate, but companion legislation failed in the House.
