Democrat activist and strategist Simon Rosenberg said Tuesday that even before President Obama issues his post-election executive order giving “temporary” legal status (including work permits) to millions of illegal aliens, the threat of deportation already has been removed through the administration’s policy of not enforcing immigration law.
In remarks at an immigration conference at Georgetown University Law Center, Rosenberg said: “…the president has fundamentally altered the system to essentially have removed the threat of deportation over virtually every undocumented immigrant in the country already.” Under Obama’s DHS 2011 “prosecutorial discretion” guidelines, “The government of the United States no longer wants to deport people from the interior without criminal records.”
