Despite widespread unemployment of Americans in high-tech fields, President Obama called for more foreign high-tech workers in his inaugural address. Specifically, he maintained that foreigners graduating from U.S. universities with advanced degrees in engineering, math and science should be allowed to remain and take American jobs.
