Many Children Needed Separation

The Departments of Justice (DOJ) and Homeland Security ((DHS) say that nearly half of the young children taken into custody after crossing the border needed to be separated from the adults who brought them. Some of those adults were not the children’s parents, and others had criminal records and posed a danger to the children. DHS cited “many instances where human traffickers have used children to cross the border to gain illegal entry.
