Judge Upholds Voter Citizenship Checks

A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that Kansas, Alabama and Georgia can require their residents to show proof of U.S. citizenship before signing up to vote, delivering a win to states concerned about voter fraud by aliens.  The Obama administration had sided with the liberal League of Women Voters which had filed the suit to halt the state citizenship checks.

The president of the League of Women Voters said they would appeal the decision.
