The number of illegal aliens apprehended at the Mexican border has risen for the past five months. The apprehensions of both the first two months of FY 2017 exceed all the months of FY 2016. Some say these numbers are beginning to rival the surge during the summer of 2014. One likely reason for these rising numbers is that foreigners are hoping to sneak across the border before the anticipated crackdown of the in-coming Trump Administration.
