A group of key Republican senators, most of whom are partial to cheap labor interests, are working on amnesty legislation for illegal aliens in the DACA category. According to Politico, a publication which reports on Congress, they are not planning to demand significant concessions from the Democrats to pass the legislation. One example is that they have “all but ruled out” seeking legislation to make the E-Verify system mandatory. E-Verify enables employers to determine the legal status of people they hire by accessing federal data bases. Making the system mandatory would do much to stop employment illegal aliens and thereby discourage illegal immigration.
