DHS Head: No Regret for Assisting Illegal Edicts

Jeh Johnson, secretary of Homeland Security, told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he had no regrets about assisting President Obama’s amnesty edicts, even though they illegally ignore the constitutional division of powers that designate Congress as the law-making body of government.

At a hearing before the committee, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) asked Johnson, “Do you regret the actions that you and the administration have taken that have gotten us to this point?” Johnson replied, “No, I do not, senator, I believe that the undocumented population in this country, at least half of which has been here more than 10 years, has to be reckoned with. We know they’re here, and they are not priorities for removal.”
