Taxpayers will face a huge bill if President Trump signs legislation to extend legal status to so-called “Dreamers,” illegal aliens who arrived as children and are now protected under the Obama-holdover executive order known as DACA.
The cost of pending legislation to legalize childhood arrivals would be astronomical due to Obamacare health insurance subsidies. The DREAM Act of 2017, sponsored by GOP Senator Lindsay Graham and Democrat Senator Dick Durbin, does not exclude aliens given legal status from receiving health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.
