Newly-elected liberal Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez on Friday issued a new policy that prohibits deputies and jailers from inquiring about someone’s immigration status and limits how they can work with federal Immigration and Customs (ICE) officials. While President Donald Trump was promising a new immigration policy that puts Americans first, and demonstrators were protesting Trump’s inauguration in trendy liberal Austin, Texas Governor Greg Abbott Tweeted he would cut funding to Austin for adopting sanctuary policies.
