Asylum System Facing ‘Fraud and Abuse’

In recent years illegal aliens have learned that making bogus claims for asylum is a way to remain in the United States. As a result the Department of Homeland Security says that the system has reached a “crisis” where it has become “increasingly vulnerable to fraud and abuse.”

Asylum applicants get work permits while their cases are being processed. The processing can often take years. The Trump Administration is trying to remedy this problem by speeding up review of asylum claims.
