Asylum claims by unauthorized aliens at the border have increased tenfold since 2009. Commenting on this situation, House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte commented, “Unfortunately, . . . because of our well justified reputation for compassion, many people are attempting to file fraudulent claims just so they can get a free pass into the United States.”
