Appeals Court Upholds Arizona Identity Theft Laws

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday vacated a preliminary injunction granted by a U.S District Court judge that had stopped enforcement of Arizona identity theft laws. The state laws prohibit the use of a false identity to obtain employment and had been used by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and others to arrest illegal aliens.
