A bipartisan group of ten senators has called for a federal probe of charges that American Information Technology workers being unlawfully replaced with foreign workers holding H-1B visas. Many tech companies claim that they need to hire foreigners because there aren’t enough Americans to fill job openings. Drawing attention to this issue was the report that Southern California Edison, California’s second-largest utility, had terminated some of its American IT workers while requiring them to train their H-1B replacements.
